...because you can't change the world, but you can make a dent...

3.10.2005

wow it's been a long time. I figured that now that my blog is effectively linked to a really important page (and maybe will make its way back onto other, more moronic pages...) I should do SOME form of updating.

So I'm sitting in Vegas at the luxurious Mandalay Bay hotel at Mell's fraud-protected laptop while we're taking a short post-extravagent-dinner pre-ridiculous-clubbing break. Yes, it's the end of 9th week and I'm in Vegas. Just goes to show that I'm not letting school rule my life anymore. Nope... climbing does that now. :)

So let's update.
love of my life -- still the same one. one year anniversary coming up... (ok you can stop throwing up now...)
habitating -- still on Bentley. add one pink jasmine plant. and some stuff from the neighbors (they always think of me first when they get new furniture)
family -- new one on the way. THAT's a new addition since last August. yup, I will be Auntie Angela to not one, not two, but THREE little kiddos come May. I may need lots more naps then.
school -- figuring out what I need to read and what I don't. actually, more focusing on what I don't. and making sure that certain professors never teach any of my classes again.
work/research -- supposedly starting to narrow it down, but really, still pretty clueless as to how next year will be. absolutely LOVED teaching teachers. hope they'll keep in touch.
hobbies -- climbing, climbing, climbing. it is SO INCREDIBLY AWESOME being active (and being able to be active). I don't think I can fully describe it...

so there's the past few months in a nutshell. I guess the question of the day/week/month is: really, since lots of things in the world suck, where do I begin to effect change? and how do I do that while maintaining a balanced life?

ok, off to dance away the lightly battered and fried calamari (+fried lemon), spicy linguine, spinach and clams, pancetta wrapped meatloaf with a port wine glaze, vanilla bean creme brulee topped with seasonal berries, and BLUEBERRY mojito. let's hope the feet don't fall off.
